1. Are you using ANT+? If you are, you need an USB extender. The computer creates a lot of interference. The receiver can not be in the computer by itself. It needs a cable.
2. The cable receiver really needs to be closed by the Drivo lights if you can.

Don't know about the speed, I just follow the power and slope I need for my training. I will check with my GPS unit tonight.

ZWIFT analyzer can give you an analysis of the connection with drops and searches.

Usually a difference in speed/distance between the software and an external device is due to the circumference settings.
With the direct drive trainers (Direto, Drivo, Kura...) you have to consider also the internal ratio and not only the circumference - that's why you have to divide the circumference by a factor when you use a non Elite device - and this operation ends up on a rounded value (decimals will be rounded).
As you can easily understand, the decimals in a long distance will become important.

I hope to have been clear enough.
So, first check to have put the same circumference value. But you'll get different rounding on the two devices and this may cause the difference in a long track.

Sorry, but this does not compute. As I outlined in a previous post, we are talking about a fraction of a mm.

2096 /343 = 611.08

Unless my math is way off over a 30 km difference, the 0.08 mm is a rounding error of 1.15 m.

Over 30 km or 40 km, 0.08 is nothing, a small rounding error which even accountants wouldn't pay attention to. And it should be a consistent rounding error each and every ride.

Second, if this was true, it would be consistent. This is not consistent. Same program two different days, huge differences in distance. Why 60 m difference one day and 400 m the next. Exact same program.

Both devices are receiving the same signals. They are showing the same speeds and the same heart rates (yes that is a different device, however, it is showing that the signals are being received correctly).

This also doesn't address the slope issue. There are two different issues here. You have explained the distance issue but not the slope. Like mgfjd, I ride to slope. Given my location doesn't have mountains, it is the best way to train the legs and aerobic system into handling specific slopes over a long distance and knowing how hard to push your body. The REAL software allows the creation a ride program whereas the tablet software doesn't.

As the original post title states, the 6% feels more like 8% or more. The distance issue is just another symptom of an issue of the "system" (meaning computer, software and trainer). I would like to be riding at relatively more accurate slope/speed/cadence rates. Or, that there is a reasonable explanation of this relative to my old REAL Power trainer which I could ride at 8% and 10% and came close to the speeds and cadences I experienced in real life.

I have been using Elite trainers since I first saw a review around 15 years ago or more on the elastogel roller and then the power trainers (I actually miss the old elastogel trainer, didn't need to do weight training just to set it up like the power trainers and especially the Drivo!)

So, is it possible to get some answers on the original topic?

@mgfjd, I will try to acquire the USB extension and see if that makes a difference in either issue.

Let me know. I tried putting the USB back to the computer and multiple small connection drops again.

I am not getting any drops. I did get one total freeze in the program the other day where the screen froze (the system was fine and I was able to access other apps on the laptop).

I will try the extension tomorrow when I do my next ride.

Run zwift for little while then run the zwift analyzer log. I never saw the drops in the screen.

I did a ride yesterday finally on the trainer with the extender. Same behaviour as when the USB key is plugged directly into the laptop.

Given the overall behaviour, I still believe this an issue with the REAL software. Both are receiving the same signals (that being the USB key and the Garmin), so any drop outs from the Drivo should affect both. The Garmin and the USB are only cm apart from each other and in yesterdays ride, the USB key was much closer (half the distance in fact).

I never did get a reply back after posting my calibration information. The only comment was a "good" on the comparison of the power meter and the Drivo. That really didn't answer anything since the resistance level at the Drivo could be too high for the slope and the power meter just confirmed the power at the Drivo was the power being shown in REAL dashboard.

At this point, I don't think they want to answer the question.

@webmaster,

contact the customer care at real@elite-it.com, as some additional test is needed.
