Is there a way to reduce latency of the Direto smart trainer?

Postby jedforrest » Mon Jun 17, 2019 1:27 am

Hi all,

Does anyone have any techniques or ideas to reduce the latency of the Direto smart trainer?

I've noticed that when starting to pedal there can be a delay of up to 5 seconds before the app recognizes that the bike is moving. I realize that there are physical limitations to the latency, but are there any suggestions on how to fix this. For example, are there any settings which reduce the processing time of the software?

Any help on this will be appreciated.

However, it feels to me like the resistance changes very quickly (and starts changing before the interval start is due - a deliberate TrainerRoad behaviour to work around trainer lag). I believe what a lot of people are ascribing to a delay in the power is actually an artifact of power smoothing. This smoothing will give the impression of lagging power.
