Dear forum members,
I am new to this forum, that why I am asking for your understanding. (at the beginning I tried to find a similar topic / discussion but I can't found nothing, that why I ask you for support)
I am the new user of the "KURA" Trainer Elite in combination with the Polar V800 sports computer.
After several trainings, I noticed that the speed and the distance traveled is wrong (many times higher than it actually should be).
In the computer settings: Polar sets up:
 crank length: (172.5)
circumference wheel (2150) Same like in 28'' bike has)
it seems logical that the value of the circumference of the wheel should be different after the bike is put in the KURA Trainer nevertheless I'm not able to set lower value in my POLAR V800 Computer: like 1000.
Dear members have you found similar problems how can I solve this problem?
Any ideas for support?
Dear Elite Service Specialists can you have any idea for this problem how to solve it?
Best Regards

Re: ELITE KURA + POLAR V800 Speed problem
Hi
You have to insert in your Polar a circumference value that also consider the internal ratio of the trainer.
In your case, you have to set a circumference equal to your wheel circumference divided by 3.43.
So, for example, if your wheel measure 2100mm, on the Polar you have to set a circumference of 612mm.
Not all the Polar (or the Garmin) allow to insert a so low circumference value unfortunately.
Check with the manufacturer if it is possible for your model.

Re: ELITE KURA + POLAR V800 Speed problem
I have the same problem with the Polar V800 and the Elite Direto. The speed shown on my watch is 10x higher than the speed shown in Zwift. Is there a know fix for this issue? The circumference in the V800 is set to the same value as the in the Direto. Zwift shows the correct speed with the same settings.

Hi! Same issue there with V800 and Elite Direto: we would need to divide the circumference in mm by 12.1, but in Polar V800 we cannot set values so low for the circumference... Very disapointing...

Re: ELITE KURA + POLAR V800 Speed problem
Guys,
as speed is calculated on the number of turns of the fan (where the magnet is) and not on the number of wheel turns, you have to divide the wheel circumference by the ratio of the trainer (12.1). If Polar doesn't allow you to insert this value, contact Polar and ask if there's a possible solution.

Re: ELITE KURA + POLAR V800 Speed problem
Hi to all,
I have a Direto 2019 and a Polar v800 and a Polar M460. The Direto procedure requires dividing the circumference of the real wheel by the internal transmission ratio which is 12.1. As a consequence, a wheel with a circumference of 2070mm must be inserted as a wheel of circumference equal to 2070 / 12.1 = 171mm. Similarly, the Kura procedure requires dividing the circumference of the real wheel by the internal transmission ratio which is 3.43. As a consequence, a wheel with a circumference of 2070mm should be inserted as a circumference wheel equal to 2070 / 3.43 = 603mm.
The problem is that the Polar V800 and Polar M460 are devices designed to adapt to circumferences of commercial wheels. In fact, it is not possible to insert circumferences with a value of less than 1000mm in the configuration phase. I reported the problem to Polar Italia, and they replied that they made the report to Polar Finland (headquarters), but they are not able to ensure a future modification of the firmware. The alternative would be for the Elite to modify the rollers / ergo trainer's firmware so in the future is possible to insert the same true circumference of the bike wheel without other operations/divisions. At present, the only way to train without absurd speed values and consequent distances of hundreds of km is to pair only the cardio the chest strap with V800 or M460 and to record the duration of training and heart rates and upload to Polar Flow in way to use the workload function and keep all the typical statistics of the platform. At the same time you can also use the Elite My ETraining app to record the workout by also pairing the cardio sensor and then you can manually enter in Polar Flow all the data recorded by My Etraining in order to enter distance, maximum speed , average speed, etcetera taking care to select the duration of the exercise for 0 minutes. With this artifice for the time being we can keep most of the statistics.
In conclusion, as the owner of a new Direto 2019 I consider it particularly serious that neither the Polar nor the Elite have yet solved this trivial configuration problem, leaving us cyclists in these absurd problems. Greetings to all.

Re: ELITE KURA + POLAR V800 Speed problem
Hi, I own a V800 and would like to buy an Elite Rampa. But can the Polar V800 receive POWER Data broadcasted by the home trainer ?
Re: ELITE KURA + POLAR V800 Speed problem
I have this same problem. I record my rides on zwift and then record a separate HR data file from my watch as you can dual pair your HR monitor to the watch and the Zwift app. But then I have two files . I do this so I can use the training load available through polar. This needs to be rectified. I am very sad that this does not work and wish I bought a different trainer
