Export to Strava/TCX export

Postby callum.girdwood » Sun Jan 07, 2018 6:37 pm

Hi

Have just completed a myrealvideo workout and tried to export it to Strava, initially via the direct export, and then by uploading the TCX. When I did so both ways I ended up with strange data. Distance was correct, but time showed as 8mins as opposed to the 34mins it actually took me. The speed data was also incorrect showing an average of 80+kmph and max of 100kmph. Clearly something not working right. Tried uploading the TCX to mapmyride as well to verify if it was a Strava issue however got the same result.

Previous exports to Strava have worked fine so not quite sure whats going on with this time.

Checked the CSV file and the data appears to be correct.

I had the exact same issue yesterday, actual time riding was just under 2 hours of climbing at around 10 km/hr. Strava has the correct distance at 19km, but completion in 33:19 and an average speed of 34.3 km/hr (up the Col du Tourmalet , thats got to be a new TdF record).

2nd time this has happened. Actual bike time 1:30:32, average speed 12.83km/hr, 19.33 km. Strava info; 26:50, avg speed 43.2 km/hr, 19.3 km

It's happened to me too. Did you pause the video? I paused it for about a minute around 55'. My ride was 1h24' long, but the TCX was 55' minutes long. It's strange, because the distance is correct and I'm inspecting the data searching the real issue. I made a small program that merges the GPS data of the CSV with the TCX data and I uploaded the merged file to Strava: the result was a lot of fake KOMs that I stole thanks to that bug... :)

I think the bug is related to the pause I did.

I can't understand why the distance is correct. Maybe the sw tries to correct the time "hiding" the pause, but something is not working well, because when you restart everything seems to work fine. Maybe tomorrow I'll try to ride for a while just to understand what happens.

But now I'm a champion!

I did some tests today. It seems that the time reported in the TCX is taken from the Video CSV file and not from the workout. If I'm right, it should be easy to fix this annoying bug.
I sent an email to Elite Support and I'll keep you updated.

I have the same problem. I did recently update to the latest version. I didn't use the export before so I can't say this is related to the new version of myEtraining Desktop.

The TCX is seems fine. I guess that David.Obber is right. I can provide a tcx if necessary
