Hello - I have an Aleno trainer and would like to know if I can use my Suunto Smart watch as an heart rate monitor?

I also have an apple watch, but I believe Elite wont be allowing for that connectivity so was hoping there might be a method to connect my other smart watch.

Hi

As you know, the HR sensor must be paired with the device you use (and not with the Aleno).
Our application my e-training is able to detect any HR frequency sent through the ant+ or bluetooth smart standard protocol channel.
So, you have to check if your smart watch sent to the outside this kind of signal (usually smart watches doesn't do this, unfortunately).
I suggest you to contact the manufacturer
