Novo Newbie

Postby mdjuniper » Fri Feb 08, 2019 5:58 pm

Hi there,

Got a Novo Smart recently - nearly all set up now.... Bluetooth pairs etc.. Windows 10 Application a nice little set up - as it takes all the bikes the family have.

When I go to configuration circumference - it is set to 47. I cannot change this to the correct wheel circumference how do you do this?

Also Ive tried to set P1, P2 and P3 - I understand these are power levels however I could not get these consistent

Any help ?- thanks!

Traditional trainers like Novo Smart calculates speed on the number of rotations of the elastogel roller (there's one or two magnets on the roller, depending on the model). So, the "circumference" set is the roller circumference (halved for the models with 2 magnets). As the app knows the model, it automatically sets the correct value and you cannot change it.

About P1, P2 and P3, they are calibration values.
If simulation is not realistic, you can change it.
You can use the guided procedure if you have a power sensor, otherwise you can change them manually considering these rules:
1. if the trainer brakes too much, you have to increase the values; if it brakes too little, you have to decrease them
2. P1 refers to medium/high slopes, P2 light slopes, P3 plane road
3. change the values of 20-30 points (no more), then do a training and check if the situation has improved. If it is not enough, repeat
