Real Turbo Muin not connecting

My real turbo muin gives the "ant device not found" error when I try to find it using the software. I have seen people with this sort of error a lot, except none of their fixes work for me.

I have downloaded the software from the website and it is up to date. I've entered in my serial number (is it 5 digits for everyone else?) The usb stick drivers are correct, the usb stick actually works when using it to detect my ant+ devices other than the actual trainer in trainerroad. I just can't get it to find my trainer.

When I plug in the trainer it vibrates and makes a noise for a while and then stops briefly before vibrating and making the noise for a while longer. It then stops vibrating and making a noise. All the while a red LED flashes somewhere inside the housing and this continues to flash indefinitely. Is all of this normal?

Please can you tell me the serial number of your trainer?
Can you also tell me which version of Real do you have?
If you use our my e-training app on a smartphone, are you able to connect to the trainer?
