Elite Smart Novo - roller wear

Hi
I have just received a replacement turbo as my 3 month old one had a deep ridge worn in the roller.
I have set up the new one properly however I'm still a bit worried based on what happened to the previous one. The tyre is lightly touching the roller not tight on it.

After a quick spin a thin tyre line has marked the red roller , which I expect is normal

What wear would you normally expect to see on the roller over the next few weeks and months?

Thanks

Hi

The problem is that the tire is not enough in contact with the roller (not the opposite!)
Please do the three complete turns of the knob, the tire must be well pressed on the roller. The roller will almost "enter" into the tire.
Verify also that the wheel is well inflated and remember to not brake during the training!

Regards

I have the same problem with my EVO. I used a special tire for home-trainer (Decathlon 700x25)
I tried for the first time this morning my new EVO and I observed this (attached picture). Is it normal?
Thank you

Estou preocupado!!!! e aguardando reporto do administrador do forum

Hi guys

Novo Smart and Evo have the same frame.
It's very important to mount properly the bike on the trainer. As I wrote you before, you have to do three complete turns of the mob to have a proper contact between the tire and the roller. If you notice a groove on the elastogel roller it means that there's not enough contact (or you braked on the trainer).

The damage is permanent and the elastogel roller cannot be replaced, so be careful.
If the damage is little, you can move a little on one side the unit of resistence to avoid the groove (the hole of the fixing bolt of the trainer are slotted).

Regards

Hi,

I have had my Elite Novo Force (not a smart one, just the basic trainer) for about 3 years and have got a lot of use out of it. Unfortunately there has been a groove worn in the resistance roller. Is there anything that can be done to repair or replace the part, or should I simply increase the pressure between the tyre and roller to compensate?

Thank you.

Hi

It depends on the status of the roller.
My suggestion is to contact the customer care adding some photos so the guys there can evaluate the damage.

Go to our support page, select the trainer model you have and then select to the link to open a ticket:
