Drivo 1 cadence sensor placement

Hi, I can’t put my cadence sensor in the position suggested in the manual as I have a Stages power meter that doesn’t leave enough space for the sensor.
Is it feasible to place the sensor on the right crank if I make sure there’s no slack in the lead to get caught in my chain?
