Sudden wattage drop

Postby rickal@iinet.net.au » Tue Jun 26, 2018 8:14 am

My Direto is now a week old.
Just yesterday the unit started reporting wattages that are 30-40% lower. It was a very sudden change.
I usually average around 200w and all of a sudden it started reporting 140w for the same effort levels.
I have the .fit files from my Edge 800 that show confirms this. With almost identical speed/cadence/HR over 70-80mins at the same resistance (the lowest) the average power over the workout has dropped from 200w to 140w.
I can't have lost 60w overnight!
Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi

Please do a calibration and take note of the offset value you get at the end.
Then tell me the serial number of your Direto and the offset value you got.

Regards

SN DIB183109
Have done calibrations and have tightened the belt as per video instructions (sent to me by your support team)
Offset was 6085 (6090 on Sticker). After tightening belt (about 3-4 turns on allen Key), now hovers between 6088 and 6090. It alternates between the 2 numbers every time you check ... this is a bit strange.
After calibrations, the wattages are still ~60w down on before

As you are already in contact with the customer care, go on with the guys there.

Just an update, the device has reverted to the original wattage readings.
Now I do not know which are the right readings.
The customer care people are really helpful, but do not seem to be able to explain this, nor which are the right readings.
I wish there was a way for me to properly test it against a known standard, but as it stands, it seems quite inconsistant
