Direto erg mode

Hi
Ive been trying to use erg mode through zwift and the my etraining app and the watts are all over the place.If fore example its set it 100w it doesnt adjust and I can send less or more watts. The watt input graph ends up being very spiky rather than a straight line.
Is there a setting i'm missing?
