Remove hub from Direto XRT

I try to remove the hub from my Direto XRT so I can replace the standard shimano hub with an SRAM hub. However I'm no able to take my hub of the Direto. On the manual it says I'm just supposed to pull it off. Anybody have any experience with removing the hub from the Direto XRT?
