Calibration number way off

I have my Direto smarttrainer for about a year now. Everything seems to be running fine but for the first time I compared the number on the bottom of the trainer to the number given after the calibration.
Number on the bottom: 3168
Calibration number: 6137
Why is there such a big difference?
I read that everyone's Direto was around 6k and as long as you were within a few points of difference while calibrating everything was a-ok. Is this accurate?
