Something strange is happening with my Direto X. It used to skip only rarely but now it does it all the time like a few times a minute. Even under light load.
I assume it's the freehub but I checked the pawls and they look fine. No damage. It's definitely not the chain or the cassette gears.
The freehub is a bit wobbly because of some wear on the driveshaft but it's not bad; maybe 2-3 mm of play on the cassette.
I wonder if it's something inside the trainer that's skipping but it's a belt system, right? so it can't be skipping.
Maybe I just need to try a new freehub.
Anyone with a similar problem?

Re: Direto X freehub skipping?
Hi, his the nut/cassete axcel cover loose? The stub where the drop outs sit on, and if you undo it you can pull the whole cassette off the body of the directo, sometimes the pawls don't spring out and get stuck makes the cassette slipp, they may need cleaning and light oiling so the flick out.
Re: Direto X freehub skipping?
Everything is tight and I did clean the pawls. I do wonder if there is enough wobble to make the pawls slip.
I ordered a replacement freehub. Hopefully, that will fix the issue. Riding rollers for now.

Replacing the freehub fixed the issue. No freehub wobble anymore and no skipping.
