Linux as an OS desktop.

Postby techbud » Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:43 am

Although Linux is making strides in the desktop OS, it still isn't ready to take over. I don't think large businesses are ready to take the step into as the knowledge gap is still to wide. I think the basic users aren't ready to change from Micrsoft and MAC. It comes down to familiarity and knowledge. People are too comfortable and don't want to spend the time learning something new. I think also it comes down to money for the businesses. They will end up spending more for linux admins as well as time training the employees to use it. Windows admins are easier to come by and salaries cost less. Maybe eventually the knowledge will catch up and make it easier for the transition over. I think more companies will look at linux in the future as a way to save money as the knowledge of linux grows.Check-distance
