My real video resistance issue

Hi, guys.
Did email support about this but thought it would be worth posting here too.
I've noticed when riding using real video that whenever the gradient increases, even if it's by a very small amount, the immediate resistance increase makes it feel like I've suddenly gone from 5% to 15% for about 5 seconds or so, effectively hitting a wall. It does the same thing when I change into a bigger cog at the back on a climb to lighten the load, making it impossible to maintain a consistent cadence. I don't notice it on zwift, so guess it's something to do with My E Training in particular.
Is this just a feature of the trainer or is there a setting I'm not using that will help? Many thanks.
