Qubo Digital Smart B+. Zwift Speed & Power Issue

Postby ThePowster » Wed Oct 25, 2017 4:55 pm

Hey guys.

Today I took delivery of my new lovely Qubo Digital Smart B+ turbo trainer.

I put it together signed up for zwift and went for a ride.

I have 2 problems thus far with it which I am hoping is just some kind of newbie set-up issue.

Prob 1: Firstly speed. My garmin tells me I am doing 16.5mph but Zwift is telling me that I am only doing 13mph, yet sometimes when I get to say 19mph on the garmin Zwift is saying I am doing 20 so it is over reading.

This is really bad low down, I can be pedalling really hard and the speed is 6 or 8mph and it doesn't seem close to realism and this was a 0% road.

Prob 2: Power. I can do 20 miles on my road bike giving it 90% effort from start to finish, however today I only managed a 3 mile course with the same intensity, it seems way harder on the TT than in real life.

Can someone please shed any information on the speed and difficulty of it please? Do they all behave like this or is there something I need to do to get the speed more realistic and power more realistic too because this is way harder than it should be.

Many thanks, can't wait to get this running right, only done 2, 3 mile rides but loved it.

Cheers :)

Hi

Zwift calculates speed from power. I don't know exactly how they calculate it, but you should ask them directly.
Of course if power is not good, speed won't be too.
It may be that the trainer needs to be calibrated.

Please use our my e-training app and check the behavior there. If also there the power seems wrong, do a calibration.
If you have any problem calibrating the trainer, please contact our customer care at real@elite-it.com

Hi thank you so much for the reply.

I have not looked at the app yet or calibration, hopefully that will help the issue.

Cheers :)

Hi

How did you manage to connect Qubo Digital Smart B+ with Zwift? Do you use Zwift iOS app or do it via web?

I have qubo digital smart b+, using it with zwift and garmin edge 810.

Speed and power in zwift seem about right, but the speed on the garmin shows me cycling over 200 km/h, which I'm pretty sure is incorrect!!

Any ideas for how I calibrate the speed of the qubo with my garmin to get it correct?

In the Garmin Edge you have to insert the circumference of the roller (in your case, the measure of the roller halved, so you have to insert 47mm), not the wheel circumference. Put 47mm and the speed will be correct

Hi,
I was given an Elite Qubo Digital Smart B+ for Christmas and I love it.

However I am a bit concerned with the readings I am getting. When I set up
the roller I did it for 30mm as that's what it said on the front of the
instructions. I did a calibration ride and then proceeded to do a few
myrealvideo rides which I downloaded. After completing the rides I also
shared them on Strava direct but it said that the mileage/time was different.

After lots of searching I have since changed the roller position to 47mm as
on my settings the circumference is saying 47 and I cant change it. I also
did another calibration ride and then another myrealvideo ride in the hope
that this would solve the problem. Well it didn't, so my question is;
What am I doing wrong?
Which setting should my roller be on?
Does this always happen with Strava?

I also have a Garmin Vivoactive HR which has the indoor trainer function. However you cant set the wheel size below 100mm. This is a problem as the Qubo Digital Smart B+ goes off the roller size which is either 30mm or 47mm so the function cant be used. I have contacted Garmin and they will pass it on to their tech lab. This is just information for those who encounter this problem.
