I am going to buy this trainer https://www.decathlon.co.uk/aleno-smart ... 98214.html But I want to learn that how the trainer measure the cadance. I asked decathlon's sellers there is a crank sensor or not but They dont know. So is there a crank sensor or the trainer calculates cadance or how can it measure?
Regards.

Hi

Aleno uses a sensorless cadence algorithm to calculate cadence from the microvariations of speed that happens when you give a pedal stroke.
This assure a good approximation in standard conditions (smooth pedaling, chain well tensed, not too high cadence at low power....) but may be imprecise in other situations.
If you need a very precise cadence reading, you should add a wireless cadence sensor (bluetooth smart or ant+, depending on the device you're going to use with the trainer)
