Elite turbo muin smart b+ not connecting to training sensor on garmin 820 and no resistance

Hello I just got a elite turbo trainer for Christmas and I'm having difficulties connecting the training sensor on my Garmin Edge 820 I was able to connect the power meter speed sensor and Cadence Sensor but for some reason it will not connect to the indoor training sensor feature. Also the resistance it feels really heavy and I know there's a feature on the indoor training garmin to adjust but I know it will to get to it because it won't connect.
