You should raise a ticket with Elite support so that they can work through this with you.

It sounds like your old belt broke because of a specific problem that affects new belts too, and it wasn't just age. Contact Elite support.

First off, it's worth taking off the cassette and installing it again to make sure it's seated properly. Have you torqued the cassette properly? It needs to be installed pretty tight.
