first I unscrew the red top cover and the black side cover. Then, using a small screw on the shaft(golden thing), I turned the shaft(golden thing) down (if you look at the trainer from the back so to the left) by about one turn. I did it with a screwdriver (although it's hard to turn but it works) ...

I'm also getting low watts, and hard to pedal. No you are OK, it's the other name for it as Halfords called it the Novo Smart.
