Power calculation on Nero

I just bought a Nero some weeks ago and I am using it with Zwift. However, the power calculation - next to some other issues like the really bad MyEtraining App software - are a mystery for me. When doing my first calibration with the Elite App I got a spin down of 2500ms (Set-up: Trainng racing bik...

Re: Resistance too easy

Sorry for the late reply, it was a hard week ... With my nero the resistance for 6% hills feels approximately right. Of course I can not say the same like in real world because I would say that the power in the display is something like a mean value not only in time also over one single crank roatio...

Re: Nero Bike Rollers

Are you using additional power meter pedals or something else or just the power caclutation from the Nero?

I recognize a small gap between power displayed in Zwift and Nero resistance but it is not too big - at least not 10 seconds. I have new Favero power pedals but had no time to install them yet.

Re: Resistance too easy

** 6% if you have dual chain rings Just tried it ... yes, it is possible but I dont know if that should not be possible. 6% is not too hard to climb. But what I have recognized is something else: When riding without gradients it seems that there is no "extra" resistance from the magnetic b...

Re: Resistance too easy

If I understood it correctly, then there is an opportunity to use SPD's together with Favero's powermeter pedal. Maybe this is an alterantive for you? I just bought them a little bit cheaper on sale but still not shure if I want and need them (here is a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybAFIhKah...

Re: Resistance too easy

** I have no faith in the Power values from the trainer. Yes, I don't either. Here are some power values I measure with the elite app together with different spin down calibrations (using bike brake as well as longer pedaling), all measured @30.2km/h and approx. 76 cadence: ms Watt 888,000 320,000 1...

Re: Resistance too easy

Ok, thats less weight than I have and more pressure in your tires than I typically apply. On trainers I usually use a little bit less pressure, I know I should measure it precisely but I would guess something between 4-5 bar (65psi). ** Elite told me that he values are in mili seconds Of course, you...

Re: Resistance too easy

Thats interesting. I am also wondering how Nero is doing the calibration. I am using a "normal" racing bike with 25 mm road wheels but a little bit less pressure than on the road and I am getting a value around 3200 in my cold (1-5 degree celsius) garage. The first time I have done calibra...

Re: The deafening silence from Elite on Nero calibration.

I think that it is not possible to calibrate it via Zwift - d'ont ask me why but I have also tried it several times. You can only calibrate it via the MyETraining Elite app. I also tried different spin down values and measured the Watt at 30 km/h and got a nice linear regression for spin down values...

Re: Resistance too easy

Which spin down value did you get after calibration?

Best regards,
Stefan
